Andy Meeks

I work with nonprofits big and small to identify resources and tell stories that inspire excitement and action.

I’ve successfully solicited gifts with engaging appeals and stewarded volunteers and donors with eye-catching print materials at Reed College, created and implemented innovative development plans on a shoestring at the Community Cycling Center, counseled patients at Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette, evaluated grant applications for the Black United Fund of Oregon, and helped plan grassroots fundraising initiatives for Oregon Walks.

I teach in the Certificate in Nonprofit Fundraising program and I facilitate Appeal Salons.

I believe that giving is inherently joyous and one way among many to demonstrate solidarity and support. My work is informed by punk politics, Riot Grrrl, Community-Centric Fundraising, Jennifer Armbrust’s Feminine Economy principles, and ethical storytelling practices.

I approach my work with humility and curiosity. I’m committed to paying attention, researching, and to evolving my fundraising practice every day.

I’m also a ceramics maker, a serial club starter, a podcast producer, and a traveler.

I make my home in Portland, Oregon.
